Pardew to find out about Adebayor’s availability against Spurs

Alan Pardew is set to find out whether or not newly-signed striker Emmanuel Adebayor will be allowed to feature in Crystal Palace’s FA Cup tie with former club Tottenham Hotspur.

Mark Ritson from the Croydon Advertiser has reported that the former Newcastle United manager is unsure on the Togo international’s availability for the Cup game and has seeked help.

It is believed that Spurs were still paying towards Adebayor’s wages, despite being released by the North London side.

Pardew said:

It was strange with FA Cup draw against Spurs, which was kind of ironic for Ade I am not sure if he can play, if I’m honest, exactly. I don’t want to say if he can play and then he can’t, but I am pretty sure he can. We’ll see.

However, the Eagles are confident that there’ll be no problems in fielding Adebayor against one of his former sides, in two weeks time at White Hart Lane.

The striker came off the bench in Palace’s most recent defeat against Bournemouth at Selhurst Park, but will be hoping that, in his next appearance, his starting position will be on the pitch rather than behind the boss.

Crystal Palace’s next game sees them take the trip to Wales, to come up against a Swansea City side who are still fighting to clear themselves from the relegation fight, and retain their Premier League status for next season.
