Former Crystal Palace defender Kenny Sansom has told the Croydon Advertiser that he believes that Alan Pardew will be able to get the best out of new signing Emmanuel Adebayor, the man who scored his first goal for the club at the weekend against Watford.
Sansom, a former England international, believes that the influence of Pardew can allow Adebayor to perform to the best of his ability.
I think if Alan Pardew can get the best out of him — and, you know, every manager will say they can get the best out of him with his experience — people like Connor Wickham can learn.
In his Palace career, Sansom made 172 appearances over six seasons before moving to Arsenal for £1m.

The 57-year-old also spoke about how some of Adebayor’s new teammates, such as Jason Puncheon, when he returns from injury, and Wilfried Zaha will be crucial in helping the Tongan hit the back of the net more frequently.
He’s got a bit of aggression. I like him. I think he holds the ball up, and if you can get good service into him from Zaha and Puncheon he will be a big plus for them.
Adebayor has more motivation to score, with Palace fan and comedian Kevin Day having said that should the 31-year-old score 10 Premier League goals this season he will ‘donate £100 to charity and swim naked across Thornton Heath pond’.
