Alan Pardew’s Crystal Palace played hosts to Roberto Martinez’s Everton at Selhurst Park last night, in a game that finished 0-0.
Throughout the game, the South London side had numerous chances to snatch all three points, including a chance for Emmanuel Adebayor who came off the bench and probably should have sealed the win.
Seven minutes into the second half, the Toffees were reduced to 10 men when midfielder James McCarthy was shown his second yellow, and it was from then on in when The Eagles should have gone on and won the game.
Pardew’s side will be disappointed with their lack of finishing on the night, in a game that they’ll know they should have won.
However, on a positive note, the defence in front of Wayne Hennessey stood strong and kept the clean sheet.
That’s now back-to-back clean sheets for the SE25 side, the same team who, before Saturday, hadn’t kept a clean sheet in six games.
The draw leaves Palace 11 points clear from the dreaded relegation zone, as well as moving Everton up to 12th in the Premier League table.
