According to the Croydon Advertiser, Crystal Palace is close to signing Gillingham F.C.’s star midfielder Bradley Dack.
The young English midfielder has enjoyed a successful year with the Kent-based side, scoring an impressive 15 goals in 42 matches. Due to his remarkable effort, scouts across England have kept their eye on him.

The report further suggests that Gillingham has placed a price tag on Dack around the range of £2.5 million. Earlier in 2016, Championship side Bristol City placed a £1.5 million bid on the 22-year-old, however, the bid was inevitably rejected.
Gillingham currently sits seventh in the Leauge One table, only one point behind Barnsley, who hold the last spot in the playoffs. In addition, Dack’s importance to Gillingham was further shown today as the midfielder was named to the PFA League One Team of the year.

With the success of lower-league players joining the Premier League and making an impact, Crystal Palace will hope to sign Dack as their new cinderella story.
Although it would seem outlandish for Dack not to join the Eagles, if Gillingham is able to make it to the Championship next season, it seems highly unlikely Dack will leave the Priestfield.
