Crystal Palace host Stoke City at home at the weekend and go into the game still not mathematically clear of relegation.
Of course, the likelihood of Sunderland and Newcastle winning their remaining games, Palace losing both of their games and the Magpies overturning the 15 goals difference is highly, highly unlikely, but the fact the Eagles aren’t 100% safe at this stage just shows how bad their slump has been.
When Palace beat Stoke at the Britannia Stadium in December, they went level on points with fourth-placed Spurs, but a terrible run of league form means they are in their current situation.
Palace will go into the game with half an eye on the FA Cup final so anybody with an injury concern will not be risked, meaning Mile Jedinak and Wilfried Zaha are unlikely to play, whilst Yohan Cabaye has been suffering with an illness and could miss the tie.
