Crystal Palace are eyeing up a move for Sevilla striker Fernando Llorente this summer, according to the Croydon Advertiser.
Llorente has been previously linked with Arsenal and Tottenham but the Eagles have now made enquiries with Alan Pardew looking to bolster his strike force.
With Emmanuel Adebayor and Maraoune Chamakh recently being released by the South London outfit, it comes as no surprise that Pardew would look to Llorente. The Spaniard, who is a World Cup winner, has been heavily linked with a move to Middlesbrough to connect with countryman Aitor Karanka with the 31-year-old supposedly having a £15.2m buyout clause.
It’s clear that a striker is a priority for Palace having been linked with the likes of Christian Benteke, Cedric Bakambu and Khouma Babacar in recent weeks. Given Connor Wickham’s injuries over this past season, an experienced striker like Llorente could add another dimension to the Palace attack.
The odds may well be stacked against Llorente moving, but they’re good with this William Hill promotional code.
The former Atletico Bilbao forward fired in 7 goals in 38 games for Sevilla last season and offers a similar aerial threat and presence to Wickham. With the experience of Adebayor and Chamakh heading out the door, it could be a shrewd move to bring Llorente to South London.
