Following the news that Crystal Palace submitted a £25m bid for Liverpool striker Christian Benteke, the Guardian are reporting that the Eagles have now sent an improved offer of £31.5m (£27m+£4.5m in add-ons) for the Belgian international.
The south London side are hopeful that the improved bid for the former Aston Villa forward will lure him into joining Palace, as they seek to improve their already growing squad ahead of next season.
It is not expected for Benteke’s personal terms conversation with the Eagles to be a problem in any potential deal, as the 25-year-old is keen to receive regular playing time in the Premier League, something not offered to him at Anfield.

Belgian striker Benteke has managed 10 goals in 42 appearances during his tenure at Liverpool. He was brought to the club by Brendan Rodgers, but has since failed to impress new boss Jurgen Klopp enough to give him headaches about which striker to start.
This season should be fresh for Benteke, who was benched a lot towards the end of last season, and only managed ten minutes in two substitute appearances with Belgium in the Euro 2016 tournament, before they were knocked out by Wales in the quarter-final stage.
With Palace failing to sign Benteke’s belgium team-mate Michy Batshauyi who’s move to Chelsea confirmed by the West London club on Sunday afternoon, the Liverpool striker would most probably be the no.1 choice striker at Selhurst Park.
