Crystal Palace midfielder is wanted by both Luton Town and Portsmouth according to reports in the Croydon Advertiser.
The League Two sides are keen to try and get a deal done for the 20-year-old, who spent some of last season on loan at Hartlepool United.
A decision on the youngster’s future is thought to be close, what with the League Two campaign getting under way in less than three weeks and Gray’s exclusion from the Eagles’ pre-season tour of America.
It is thought, however, that the club may be delaying any decision until as late as possible to maximise the opportunity for a League One club to enter talks for a loan-deal.

Speaking to the Croydon Advertiser, academy manager Gary Issott spoke about the interest surrounding the Englishman.
There is a lot of interest in Jake Gray. I believe Portsmouth and Luton are keen on him. I think, for Jake, he can go to a club top end of League Two or League One, a club chasing promotion and with lots of goals, because one thing Jake gives you is goals. I would say he should be looking for ten goals a season.
His services are clearly not required by senior manager Alan Pardew and for the sake of his development, it’s important he continues regular game time at a good standard level.
