Two Premier League clubs appear to be making moves for Moussa Sissoko of Newcastle United, with Everton and Crystal Palace both keen on a winger who has been linked with the likes of Real Madrid and Juventus so far this summer.
Following the departure of Yannick Bolasie to Goodison Park, The Eagles are looking for a big name to replace him, and have set their sights on Sissoko (per the Northern Echo) who wants out of St. James’ Park following relegation under Steve McClaren and Rafa Benitez last year. They’ve had an injection of cash thanks to the £25 million Everton paid for Bolasie, and could use it to bring in his successor.

Meanwhile, L’Equipe are reporting (quoted by Sport Witness) that Everton and Internazionale are set to hold talks with the Frenchman’s representatives in Paris, in order to sound out the possibility of a move to either club with just over a fortnight left in the transfer window. The Toffees are ramping up their activity in the market in the final few days, and could look to bring in Sissoko to show their intent to improve under Ronald Koeman this year.
Newcastle’s asking price of £35 million for the France international seems to have so far put clubs interested in him off from making a move, but that could all change when Premier League teams – with all the new TV money – start bidding for him. However, it doesn’t look like he’ll get his wish of Champions League football, which has been his pre-condition for signing for a club this summer.

Sissoko has been a regular player for Newcastle since he moved to the north-east from Toulouse in January 2013, playing 37 times last season alone, even if he wasn’t able to keep The Magpies up. In all, Sissoko has made 133 appearances for the club, scoring 12 goals.
