According to the Guardian, Crystal Palace are keen on Everton midfielder James McCarthy.
The report says that Everton could sanction an exit for McCarthy before next Wednesday’s deadline, with Southampton, Stoke and Crystal Palace all interested in the midfielder.
McCarthy has fallen down the pecking order at Everton since Ronald Koeman took over this summer. Gareth Barry and Idrissa Gueye are currently his preferred midfield pairing, opening the door for a McCarthy exit.

The report also states that Everton are looking for a fee of £18m, which is fairly substantial. All three sides are said to be interested, but there doesn’t appear to be any favourite at this time. Nor is there any sign of imminent bids.
The 25-year-old has been at Everton since 2013, and has amassed over 100 appearances for the Toffees in that time. However, it looks as though his time in Merseyside could be up by next week.
