Santos playmaker Lucas Lima has revealed that he has received an offer from a team in England after reports that Crystal Palace were interested in signing the Brazilian.
Lima played for Brazil in this summer’s Copa America and attracted interest from across the globe. Speaking to Samba Foot, the 26-year-old revealed some of the offers that he had received.
I had something from England and from China in this window, which I did not hear about in the media. Some clubs approach you and do not come out in the press,
Lima does hint that the offer may not be from Palace, but rumours emerged yesterday that Alan Pardew was interested in signing the attacking midfielder.
However, the ex-Internacional man has told fans to not trust the press and spoke of how speculation hindered his mindstate earlier this year.
Anything is possible. A lot can happen in the window. I speak generally. The Olympics is over now and it will be busy. I’m happy for the team, the campaign in Brazil. I am calm. There has been speculation in the press and not everything that comes out in the press was true. I am calm. At the beginning of the window it hindered me a little, now I’m down to earth, quiet.
Lima has spent all of his career in Brazil, but has his heart set on a move to Europe, and preferably Spain. However, he has not revealed any interest from teams or Spain or anywhere in Europe except for England.
