According to the Daily Mail, Crystal Palace are set to re-enter the race to sign James McCarthy in the January transfer window.
The summer window only closed three days ago, but Palace are already making preparations for their next chance to land the Irish midfielder.
They agreed a £3m fee to sign McCarthy on deadline day, on loan, but the move broke down due to Everton losing out on Moussa Sissoko to Tottenham.

Everton were keen to land £30m-rated Sissoko, but the midfielder refused to take Ronald Koeman’s calls as his heart was set on a move to Spurs. This then had implications on Palace’s move for McCarthy, as Everton then pulled the plug on his exit.
Palace had agreed a £3m loan fee and McCarthy was set to travel to London to complete the deal. Now, Palace will have to wait until January to make another move for the central midfielder.
