Crystal Palace full-back Papa Souare has been airlifted to hospital following a serious car crash on the M4 motorway on Sunday afternoon.
The Guardian report that the other driver involved in the crash was not seriously injured and subsequently was not hospitalised.
Souare, who was not involved in Palace’s 2-1 win over Middlesbrough on Saturday, was taken to hospital by an air ambulance but thankfully his injuries are said to not be life-threatening.
According to a statement released by Crystal Palace on Monday morning, Souare’s injuries are to his thigh and jaw bone – and the Selhurst Park outfit are closely monitoring his situation.
The magnitude of the crash can be better understood when looking at the picture of the defender’s car, which has been doing the rounds on social media since Sunday afternoon.

The roof was clearly taken off the car to get the left-back out of the vehicle following the crash.
We wish Papa a speedy and full recovery.
