Crystal Palace missed out on one of their transfer targets this summer – because he feels that the Eagles are not a big enough club.
This comes according to the Croydon Advertiser, who write that Palace made a bid, as confirmed by the player’s agent, for Santos playmaker Lucas Lima.
It is thought that a fee of 15 million euros was agreed by the two clubs, but Lima rejected a move to join forces with Alan Pardew at Selhurst Park because he is holding out for a move to a ‘bigger’ club.

Lima’s agent, Wagner Ribeiro also revealed that Chinese clubs had bid for the Brazilian, but the player was not interested, with his sights full set on his ‘dream’ move to a ‘big’ club.
His contract expires at the end of 2017, so Santos may be forced to sell Lima in either the January or the summer transfer window, so as to avoid losing him for nothing.
