Crystal Palace welcomed Stoke City to Selhurst Park and set them back up north with their tales between their legs after handing them a 4-1 hammering.
Stoke have been the worst team in the league this year and it was easy to see why as after eleven minutes, both of Palace’s starting centre-backs, James Tomkins and Scott Dann, had scored from set plays.
Stoke did improve in the second half but nearly went 3-0 down but Bojan cleared Dann’s header off the line.
Palace did extend their lead in the 71st minute as James McArthur’s deflected strike beat Shay Given.
Three became four just a few minutes later when Andros Townsend scored a very good goal, capping an impressive display for the England winger.
Alan Pardew will be delighted with how his side played but there will be a slight tinge of regret at the lack of a clean sheet after Marko Arnautovic scored a consolation deep into injury time.
