Crystal Palace suffered their first defeat in five league games against what was a struggling West Ham at Selhurst Park on Saturday evening, with Lanzini’s goal in the first half enough to secure a win for the Hammers.
It was an uninspiring game of football and a game in which the Eagles struggled to get hold of on many occasions with summer signing and Palace’s Player of the Month for September, Christian Benteke, sending a spot kick wide and heading against the post moments later.
Despite West Ham going down to 10 men with 15 minutes left on the clock with Arron Creswell receiving two yellow cards within the space of a minute, Palace failed to capitalise on the chance and could possibly slip out of the top 10 depending on other results this weekend.
