Alan Pardew left Andros Townsend on the bench and replaced him with Chung-yong Lee whilst captain Scott Dann returned from injury and replaced Damien Delaney at centre back.

Liverpool regained the lead when Lovren made up for his error when he headed home Phillipe Coutinho’s cross.
McArthur headed in his second goal of the game to level but another set-piece put Liverpool in front as Joel Matip’s header had too much power for Steve Mandanda.
Palace could have had a couple of penalties in the second half but were not given one and when Roberto Firmino scored for Liverpool, the game was pretty much done.
