Crystal Palace suffered their fourth defeat in four games against Burnley with defensive issues continuing to be at the vocal point of most criticism with a number of Eagles fans calling for Pardew’s head.
Burnley scored two goals early on, within the first 14 minutes of the game – both of which were poor goals to concede. Wickham scored with his first touch of the game in the second half and Christian Benteke scored from the spot with less than ten minutes left on the clock.
Ashley Barnes wasn’t going to accept just a point from the game however as after a Palace free-kick the former Brighton player sprinted up the pitch and put the ball past Mandanda, giving Burnley the all important three points.
