Yaya Toure hadn’t played a game in the Premier League this season having fallen out with Pep Guardiola but he was recalled to play against Crystal Palace and proved to be the match winner with two goals.
Palace will feel like they didn’t get the rub of the green and when Connor Wickham pulled them level in the 66th minute after Toure’s first half opener, the Eagles fans will have been hopeful of getting at least a point from the game.
However, with around seven minutes to go, Toure converted from Kevin de Bruyne’s corner to send his side level at the top of the table, leaving Palace just one point above the relegation zone with Alan Pardew under pressure having seen his side lose five games in a row.
Palace went into the with the worst points-per-game tally of any team in England’s top four divisions and another loss has done little to silence Pardew’s doubters.
