In a day that football took a backseat in Croydon, after the tragic tram derailment at Sandilands on 11th November 2016, Crystal Palace suffered their fifth straight defeat in the Premier League.
A minutes silence was held before the game to remember the seven people who lost their lives in the tram crash as well as a minute applause in the 19th and 57th minute to remember the two Palace fans that sadly lost their lives.
Yaya Toure scored twice in his return to the starting line-up for Manchester City, taking advantage of two defensive errors, something which is becoming a fashion for Crystal Palace.
Connor Wickham scored Palace’s only goal in the game, after coming on as a substitute at half-time to replace Andros Townsend who has been out of form.
