Crystal Palace have reportedly joined Championship sides Brighton, Reading and Wolves in the race to sign 17-year-old striker Idris Kanu from non-league side Aldershot Town.
The teenager was once on the books at West Ham but refused to sign a new deal there and went on trial to Manchester United. He impressed there too but failed to secure a deal and ended up at the Shots as he wanted to go somewhere where he’d be able to play every week.

He’s scored three times for Aldershot already as has seemingly impressed scouts of numerous clubs, one of which seems to be Crystal Palace.
Scouting the non-leagues has become almost essential for Premier League and Championship clubs after the likes of Charlie Austin, Chris Smalling and Jamie Vardy showed that players from that level can develop into Premier League quality players.
Palace, if they choose to sign Kanu, would likely have to assure him of first team action or at least offer him an immediate loan move.
