Crystal Palace manager Alan Pardew is looking to raid his former employers Newcastle in January as he prepared a £15m move for Aleksandar Mitrovic, according to the Guardian’s Ed Aarons.

Pardew received a lot of plaudits for his time on Tyneside for some of the value signings he made whilst managing the club, including the likes of Loic Remy and Yohan Cabaye who he has also brought with him to Selhurst Park.
While Mitrovic and Pardew did not overlap at Newcastle, the Serbian striker was certainly someone the club were scouting under Pardew’s stewardship so he will know what he can offer.
The 22-year-old joined Newcastle from Anderlecht in the summer of 2015 for a reported £16m and has scored 14 goals in 50 appearances for the club, including five in 14 this term.
It’s believed that Palace will consider a £15m bid for the striker in next month’s transfer window to add some competition for Christian Benteke in attack while Swansea are also interested in the fiery forward.
