Sam Allardyce wants to bring in a number of fresh faces in next month’s transfer window to help Crystal Palace beat the drop this season.
Recruiting players he’s already worked with could be a wise strategy and Allardyce has already eyed up one of his form players for a possible loan move.
According to the Croydon Advertiser, Crystal Palace want to sign Arsenal right-back Carl Jenkinson on loan for the rest of the season but they face interest from West Ham.
During his time as West Ham manager, Allardyce signed Jenkinson on loan for the 2014/15 season which was arguably the England international’s best as a Premier League player.
Slaven Bilic renewed the deal for the following season but an ACL tear in January saw the deal cut short and his season was ended.
Having made his injury comeback over the Autumn, Jenkinson again finds himself on the bench at the Emirates due to the fine form of Hector Bellerin and Arsene Wenger is willing to loan out the former Charlton man.
With both Joel Ward and Martin Kelly capable of covering at left-back for the stricken Pape Souare, Jenkinson would come in and immediately be the starter at right-back one would imagine.
