Christian Benteke will be one of the few players to turn down the financial allure of the Chinese Super League in order to stay put in the Premier League.
Crystal Palace shelled out a club record £30m to bring Benteke to the club in the summer from Liverpool and thus far he’s been worth the significant outlay, scoring eight goals in 17 Premier League appearances to date.
However, there are always clubs interested in a player of Benteke’s quality and a number of Chinese clubs are looking to bring in the Belgian during the January transfer window.
The striker is the subject of a massive £40m plus offer from Beijing Guoan while other CSL are also keen to sign the Belgium international, say the Daily Mail.
There have been a number of high-profile players making the move to the Far East of late, with Chelsea’s Oscar and Zenit St. Petersburg’s Axel Witsel just two of the names.
Benteke, however, wants to stay put in London with his family and kick on under Sam Allardyce after a strong first-half of the season.
