Fullbacks are on the radar of Sam Allardyce this month as he looks to add numbers to his squad during the January transfer window.
According to the Mirror, Crystal Palace are leading the race to sign Arsenal defender Carl Jenkinson on loan for the rest of the season.
Allardyce was the manager of West Ham when he brought Jenkinson in on loan for the 2014/15 season which could be regarded as the best season of his professional career to date.
He returned to West Ham the following campaign but has a terrible first-half of the season before an ACL injury in January prompted the Hammers to terminate the deal half-way through. He didn’t return until late in the Autumn for Arsenal and he’s made a handful of appearances this term.
However, Jenkinson is still very much considered a fringe player at the Emirates and Arsene Wenger is willing to let him leave the club again on loan for some regular first-team football.
Watford, Aston Villa, Swansea and West Ham have all also enquired about the England international who has 18 months left on his current deal at Arsenal.
