Crystal Palace are reportedly edging closer to reaching an agreement with Juventus over the shock transfer of Patrice Evra.
According to Italian news outlet Di Marzio, the Eagles are keen on bringing the experienced defender to Selhurst Park this month as Sam Allardyce looks to bolster his defensive options.
It’s clear to see that a left-back is needed at Palace, with a clear lack of strength in depth throughout the course of the defence forcing Martin Kelly to deputise and Zeki Fryers to be called upon after Pape Souare’s injury.

Evra would certainly be a shrewd addition if Palace can pull it off this month, given his vast experience in the Premier League and technical quality.
Despite the former France international reaching the twilight years of his footballing career, he will feel as though he still has something to offer for the cause as Allardyce looks to strengthen his squad ahead of a second half survival push this season.
After bids were made for both Charlie Taylor and Jeffrey Schlupp, Allardyce might be looking for two left-backs, or he could simply be casting his net far and wide in an attempt to secure at least one target.
