Christian Benteke has been carrying the load up front all season long and that cannot continue.
As we saw in Palace’s FA Cup third round replay, they needed the big Belgian to come off the bench and bag a brace to dig the Eagles out of their hole and move onto the fourth round.
Frazier Campbell should not be the club’s first reserve for Benteke, especially while Connor Wickham is out injured meaning a replacement is needed.
Everton’s Arouna Kone is reportedly a player Palace are targeting for a cut-price fee this month, but they face competition from Swansea according to French source Football.fr.

The 33-year-old’s contract runs out at the end of the season and it’s apparent that Ronald Koeman does not envisage the Ivorian has part of his long-term plans with Everton.
Kone has made just three Premier League appearances this season, all from the bench and he’s not even featured in a league matchday squad since early September.
He’s also dealt with knee injuries in his past, undergoing three major operations in his time, the most recent in October 2013 which forced him to 399 days of action and 52 games for Everton before making his return in November 2014.
Kone has been in English football now for nearly five years, scoring 23 goals in 97 appearances during spells with Everton and Wigan. Given his contract situation and lack of playing time, you’d expect Kone to be available on the cheap this month.
