Just six months after joining Crystal Palace on a free transfer from Marseille, Steve Mandanda is already eyeing a return to the Ligue 1 club say Le10Sport.
The France international is currently recovering from a knee operation he underwent in November which has limited him to just nine Premier League appearances for the Eagles.
It was reported that Mandanda met with Marseille’s sporting director Andoni Zubizarreta after his knee operation in December and that Zubizarreta, though he did not make an official move for the keeper, left the door open for a potential return to the club down the line.
The London Evening Standard later confirmed that Marseille were eager to re-sign Mandanda and the 31-year-old would welcome the opportunity to rejoin the Ligue 1 club as he is growing increasingly more homesick during his stay in South London.
Le10Sport claim that Marseille could move for Mandanda in the summer given his interest in returning to the club he spent nine years with. The new project, bankrolled by American investor Frank McCourt, is also interesting the goalkeeper.
