Sam Allardyce is weighing up a late move for out-of-favour Everton midfielder James McMcarthy, reports the Daily Mail.
The 26-year-old has only featured on eight occasions in the Premier League so far this season and is set to see his chances become more limited, following the arrival of Morgan Schneiderlin from Manchester United earlier on this month.
Newcastle United are also reported to be interested in the former Wigan Atheltic player, who joined the Toffee’s in 2013. McCarthy has been linked with Palace in previous transfer windows but a move has never materialised.

The Eagles have been looking to strengthen their side ahead of the transfer window closing at the end of the month, as they become embroiled in a relegation battle, the start of a demise which saw Alan Pardew lose his job as Palace manager at the end of December.
Allardyce has already signed Jeffery Schlupp from Leicester City but has failed to sign any of his other targets so far in the January window, with moves for the likes of Patrice Evra falling through.
