It was another disappointing display from Crystal Palace as goals from Raheem Sterling, Leroy Sane and Yaya Toure ended the Eagles interest in the FA Cup.
Palace were much changed for this game but were able to comfortably hold City at bay until a couple of minutes before the break. Sterling was slipped through by Gabriel Jesus and scored. The tie seemed all but over when midway through the second half, Sane added a second. Toure then fired home in injury-time to score his sixth goal in his last seven appearances against the Eagles to complete the scoring and see City cruise through to the fifth round.
Crystal Palace boss Sam Allardyce: “We’ve lost that habit of winning. Our game is OK in parts. We look quite good at times and then a mistake creeps in and the opposition punish us.
“Loic’s was the main chance. If that goes in the back of the net it may have been different. I’ve got more to worry about with the goals we’re conceding rather than moan about referees.”
