Crystal Palace are weighing up a move for former Barcelona and Juventus defender Martin Caceres, according to ESPN.
The Uruguayan is a free agent after being released by Juventus last year and Sam Allardyce is thought to be keen to add him to the Eagles squad.
Caceres, now 29, has a wealth of experience to offer Palace and he’d represent good cover for the current defensive crop.
Since becoming a free agent last June, Caceres has not been able to agree a deal with any club but it’s obvious why a move to the Premier League might appeal.

Big Sam confirmed his interest in the press conference ahead of the game with Bournemouth on Tuesday.
Caceres is one who may appear after the window as he’s not attached to a club. Yes, I have an interest.
The defender can play anywhere along the back for, and it’s that versatility that also makes him a signing worth pursuing.
With the additions of Jeff Schlupp and Patrick van Aanholt, plus the links to Carl Jenkinson ongoing, it’s obvious Allardyce sees his defence as a key area to strengthen.
As Caceres is a free agent, however, he doesn’t have to complete his move before January 31st. One to keep an eye on after the window shuts.
