The former Newcastle United winger has been a free agent since being released from his contract with the Russian side, Anzhi Makhachkala.
Subject to a medical, Obertan will complete a move to Wigan and sign a deal until 2018.

The winger who Sam Allardyce knows well had been linked with a move to Selhurst Park, with Andros Townsend also being linked with a January exit.
Townsend remains to be linked with a return his and Obertan’s former side, Newcastle, who Palace signed the England international from. It is still unclear whether Townsend will re-join either on loan or permanently.
Obertan joined the Russian side in the summer and was largely considered as a marquee signing, with Anzhi known for their big-money spending over the years.
