Crystal Palace finally completed the loan signing of defender Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool as their final transfer of the January transfer window, with the announcement coming in the early hours of the morning.
The 26-year-old’s paperwork for the loan was submitted before the 11pm deadline on Tuesday, allowing the clubs to complete the deal after the window closed, with the anticipated announcement not happening until 1:20am.
Sakho has made 80 appearances for Liverpool since joining them from Paris St Germain in September 2013, scoring a total of three goals in that time.

The Frenchman has struggled to get into the first team at Anfield after falling out with manager Jurgen Klopp, when he was sent home from a pre-season tour of America due to concerns over his attitude.
After falling out with Klopp, Sakho has been stuck in the U23 squad and has not been able to work his way back into the first team – this move will be a relief for the defender, who will be able to get Premier League game time.
