Crystal Palace made some important signings in the January transfer window and it looks as though they have had a big impact already.
Sam Allardyce had potentially the most important transfer window in his managerial career so far, with the task at hand being strengthening the Palace squad to cope with the remainder of the season and to keep them afloat in the Premier League.
Now, although there is still a long way to go in the league in the next couple of months, he has taken them just outside of the relegation zone for the first time in a while.
A lot of this has been down to tightening up the back line, which has been massively helped by the loan signing of Mamadou Sakho from Liverpool on deadline day.
Since the 27-year-old’s arrival, Palace have played twice. In those two games, they’ve come out with six points and have conceded no goals. The influence of Sakho has shown that short-term fixes in the form of loans can certainly have a big effect on proceedings.
So, could Palace replicate their clever dealings in the loan market next season?
Here is a player from each of the top seven Premier League clubs at the moment that would be a good loan signing if Palace stay up next season.
