Kara Mbodji has been a long-term target of Sam Allardyce’s.
He saw multiple offers turned down for the centre-back while he was at West Ham and in January, he had a bid turned down again at Crystal Palace.
Palace went on to sign Mamadou Sakho on loan for the rest of the season and the Frenchman has been a roaring success thus far, but could Allardyce be tempted back into a deal to sign Mbodji in the summer?
Belgian source DH claims that Anderlecht have cleared the air with their star defender who was unhappy about being denied a January move to the Premier League and they’ve agreed on a price that he can be sold at.
Director of Football Herman Van Holsbeeckhas confirmed that as long as Mbodji performs well in the Belgian league play-offs that he will be granted a transfer at the agreed price.
“They know that these games are extremely important for them (the players). We decided the amount received in winter wouldn’t be enough to sell. We’ve now clarified things for the end of the season.”
Anderlecht wanted €15m for Mbodji in January and their summer asking price might’ve increased seeing as he signed a new contract.
