Parish insists Palace are confident of keeping Zaha

Crystal Palace chairman Steve Parish has stated he is confident that the club can keep hold of Wilfried Zaha this summer, warding off potential suitors.

Zaha is in the form of his life having scored six goals and eleven assists in the league and has gained attention from many clubs across Europe, but Tottenham seem to be at the top of the lot to sign the Ivory Coast international.

Zaha put in another exceptional display in Wednesday’s 3-0 win over Arsenal, in which the 24-year-old provided two assists.

Tottenham tried to sign Zaha last summer, but their £14 million bid was set aside after claiming it was ‘ridiculous’ by the Palace chairman, but Spurs remain keen on the winger and will try again this summer.

Parish is about to start talks with Zaha of a contract extension, as quoted by the Evening Standard. His current contract lasts until 2020 but, with a lot of interest from different clubs, Parish believes that he can keep hold of a player of his level.

Wilf is focused on the end of the season and keeping us in the division. That’s what he’s keen to do. We’re keen to do that.

We’ll sit down and talk at the end of the season and I’m very confident we can keep him here. We’re not looking to sell any players. We’re looking to go up the league.
