Crystal Palace continued their push for Premier League safety this season with a shock 2-1 victory away at Liverpool this afternoon.
Sam Allardyce’s men headed into the game with high hopes of a big result but were certainly the underdogs, with the Reds also in a good spell of form and keen to cement their position in the top four.
However, it was a difficult game for Jurgen Klopp’s side and a familiar foe managed to pile on the misery at Anfield.
Liverpool did go a goal up though, with Philippe Coutinho scoring a quite breathtaking free-kick that left Wayne Hennessey with absolutely no chance.
However, Palace bounced back through a goal from Christian Benteke against his former club, seeing the score-line at 1-1 heading into the half-time break.
It was the big Belgian forward that struck again late on, with him heading home the winner in front of the Palace fans to seal a crucial three points.
