Crystal Palace are looking expand their home capacity by redeveloping the Main Stand to add a further 6000 seats, but are facing a hold up as look to acquire land.
As reported by Sam Cunningham of the Daily Mail, Palace seem to have hit a stumbling block in the form of supermarket giant Sainsbury’s.
As Palace fans are well aware of, there is currently a Sainsbury’s on the corner of the Main Stand and the White Horse Lane stand and it is being reported that the retail giants are making extortionate demands in terms of the cost of selling up to allow the redevelopment to take place.

Palace are looking to follow a similar model to Liverpool, who were able to keep their Main Stand open whilst work took place to increase the capacity but this stumbling block is proving to be a spanner in the works.
According to the report, Palace eventually want to make the capacity of Selhurst Park around 40,000 but are content to go to 32,000 with this first planned phase of redevelopment.
