Crystal Palace could not do enough to cap the season with a win this afternoon as they were defeated 2-0 by Manchester United.
The main objective for Palace for the season eventually was to remain afloat in the Premier League, which Sam Allardyce has done so well, but they will look back on the finale of the campaign with rue after they failed to capitalise on a severely weakened United side.
In the opposite dugout, Jose Mourinho made a series of changes as he gears his men up for Wednesday’s Europa League final between United and Ajax. A plethora of young players were handed their chances in the squad and it was a debutant who opened the scoring.
Young Josh Harrop scored in front of the Old Trafford crowd just 15 minutes in to give his side the 1-0 lead, before Paul Pogba doubled the advantage within the next four minutes.
The outcome was 2-0 to United, and it was a game to forget all in all for Palace.
For the last time this season, here are our post-match player ratings!
