Crystal Palace are fairly resigned to the fact that they will be unable to keep Mamadou Sakho.
The defender made a major impact after arriving from Liverpool on loan in January despite making just eight appearances as the Eagles battled their way out of a relegation scrap.
Sakho did enough in those games to earn rave reviews and force Liverpool to slap a £30m price-tag on the Frenchman’s shoulders.
After a falling out with Jurgen Klopp last summer, Sakho’s days at Anfield were always numbered and he appears set to leave the club on a permanent basis this summer, but Crystal Palace won’t be the destination.
Sam Allardyce has been forced to assess other targets and the Mirror believe he’s interested in bringing Anderlecht defender Kara Mbodj to the club, but he faces competition from Leicester.
Mbodj was a target of Allardyce’s during his time at West Ham and the Eagles also tried for the Senegalese centre-back in January but saw their efforts rebuffed.
Anderlecht are now willing to part ways with the 27-year-old who has been determined to complete a move to the Premier League for a number of years.
