Crystal Palace may be forced to drop their interest in signing Liverpool defender Mamadou Sakho permanently after Chairman Steve Parish admitted a deal for the defender would be ‘difficult’, as reported by the Daily Mail.
Sakho was excellent for Palace after joining on-loan from Liverpool in the January transfer window and helped the Eagles survive relegation.

However, the Anfield club are demanding a massive £30million for the French centre-back, which is well above the price that Palace are willing to pay.
Palace were seriously considering an offer for the defender but are now looking for alternative options. Palace will wait until they have appointed a new manager before making a final decision on the player, who will be allowed to leave Liverpool this summer after being frozen out by Anfield boss Jurgen Klopp.

Along with the huge transfer fee, Palace would also need to meet Sakho’s wage demands of £100,000 a week, which is something that Parish isn’t keen on.
Sakho fell out of favour at Liverpool, which led to Sam Allardyce making the loan deal happen to bring him to Selhurst Park where he seemed to thoroughly enjoy his time.

Sakho thrived under Allardyce, whose teams are nearly always set-up around a strong defence. Sakho was the key man at the back for Palace and quickly became a fan favourite at the London club.
