Following the shock departure of Sam Allardyce, Palace were expecting to start interviewing candidates for the vacant manager’s role next week, with Burnley’s Sean Dyche a leading candidate.
Burnley, however, are aiming to head off the anticipated interest in the highly-rated Dyche by offering him a new deal this summer, according to a Daily Mail report.
Former Hull City boss Marco Silva had been the favoured candidate for Palace, but opted to join Watford instead.
The 45-year-old Dyche only signed a new contract with the Clarets in February 2016, but in the hopes of keeping him at Turf Moor for another season, and also in recognition of his work in keeping Burnley in the Premier League, he is expected to be offered improved terms.

The Eagles’ interest in Dyche is understandable, with him being rated one of the best English managers in the modern game. He led Burnley to a 16th-place finish last season, only a point behind Palace, achieving the mythical 40 points to avoid relegation. Dyche also oversaw an impressive home defensive record as his side only conceded 20 goals at Turf Moor, the eighth-best record in the league.
