Defensively, Crystal Palace were not good enough this past season and whoever takes the reins at Selhurst Park will have a big job on their hands improving that area of the pitch.
Despite not having a manager, the Eagles are still doing their due diligence on potential summer signings and according to Sky Sources, Palace are amongst a number of clubs from England and France that are interested in signing Le Havre fullback Ferland Mendy.
Mendy appears to be the latest prodigy to emerge from the Le Havre academy that has helped produce or develop the likes of Paul Pogba, Riyad Mahrez, Dimitri Payet and Lassana Diarra, as well as namesake Benjamin Mendy and current Eagle, Steve Mandanda.
The Ligue 2 club value the 21-year-old defender at £7m and the likes of West Brom, Brighton and Birmingham are all interested in signing the Frenchman.
Only under contract for one more year, Mendy is also on the radar of Ligue 1 champions Monaco, as well as Marseille and Lyon.
