Steve Mandanda was one of a number of high-profile additions to the Crystal Palace squad summer by Alan Pardew, but things haven’t worked out for him.
After his arrival on a free transfer from Ligue 1 side Marseille, Mandanda made nine Premier League starts for the Eagles without keeping a clean sheet prior to undergoing a knee operation in November which kept him out for several months.
He never managed to earn his place back in the side under Sam Allardyce and it seems as if Palace are ready to part ways with the France international.
There was talk of interest from Marseille as long ago as last December, but according to L’Equipe (h/t Sport Witness) the two clubs are still at loggerheads over his proposed return to the club, leaving the 32-year-old worried about where his future lies.
Palace are understood to be ready to part ways with the former Le Havre standout for €5m, while Marseille aren’t prepared to spend more than €2m on bringing him back and neither party are ready to budge on their stance.
Mandanda is currently on his off-season holiday and is back in Marseille with his family, with a distinct idea of staying there on a permanent basis.
