When Sam Allardyce announced his shock resignation as Crystal Palace manager, many fans were left wondering who would take over at Selhurst Park.
Well, the wait is finally over.
Today, Crystal Palace have announced that Frank de Boer is the club’s new manager on a three-year contract.
The 47-year-old Dutchman has been out of football after being sacked in November by Inter Milan after just 85 days in charge of the Serie A club but has finally made the return to the game.
De Boer has an illustrious playing career, primarily with Ajax and Barcelona, and earned 112 caps for the Netherlands.
His most successful spell as a manager came during a six-year stint at Ajax between 2010 and 2016 where he won four Eredivisie titles.
His first job at Selhurst Park will be to evaluate the squad and where he needs to improve as the Eagles are already several weeks behind their league rivals as their search for a new manager took precedence over transfer activity.
