A year after signing Mile Jedinak from Crystal Palace, Aston Villa want to raid Selhurst Park again, this time for another central midfielder in James McArthur, according to reports in the Birmingham Mail.
Jedinak and McArthur formed a formidable partnership together at Palace under Alan Pardew, with Steve Bruce reportedly very keen in wanting to reunite the pair ahead of the upcoming campaign. The Australian midfielder impressed during his debut season with Villa, with the Midland side failing to win any game where Jedinak didn’t feature.
McArthur has dropped down the pecking order at Selhurst Park after Luka Milivojevic joined in January, with new boss Frank de Boer keen on bringing in a number of fresh faces, potentially allowing McArthur to leave for the Championship.
Stoke are also believed to be keen on the Scottish international, however, reports suggest the Potters will have to move a midfielder out before any midfield incomings.
