New Eagles manager Frank De Boer is reportedly after left-back Davide Santon, who he managed whilst at Inter Milan.
In a report from calciomercato.com, the 26-year-old who played for Newcastle from 2011-2015, would be open to a move back to the Premier League and his old coach.
Although Santon was a regular under De Boer during the Dutchman’s short spell at Inter at the start of last season, he only managed 11 starts last season in total and therefore may look to complete a move elsewhere with Crystal Palace the favourites.
The left-back, however, is very versatile and can also play right-back, which makes him a good defensive option for Palace. Having only signed Patrick Van Aanholt and Jeff Schlupp in January, Santon may find his game time to be at right-back, if he was to sign for Crystal Palace. A deal, if it was to be concluded, would cost the Eagles around £5m
Santon only has a year remaining on his contract at Inter Milan and has been linked with other Premier League teams in the past few seasons.
