Premier League club Crystal Palace are fighting off competition from Championship clubs Birmingham City and Fulham for the signature of Bastia defender Alexander Djiku, according to a report on Get West London.
The defender’s performances last season have meant that there is interest in him from clubs all around Europe, but Palace are hoping that the promise of Premier League football will be too good to refuse for the young defender.
The 22-year-old centre-back is available for as little as €3m as French club Bastia are looking for a quick sale. The price will not be a problem for the Eagles but it is then down to the player is he wants to move to Selhurst Park or elsewhere.

The promise of first team football will be far stronger at other clubs than Palace, but at the Eagles he will have a chance to prove himself to a global audience and fight for his spot in the team.
Djiku made 23 appearances in all competitions for Bastia last season and got his name on the scoresheet once. He does have an emerging reputation as a hot-head after receiving two red cards in the French Ligue 1 last season.
He is very strong in the air and enjoys tough battles with strong forwards. Palace are yet to make a bid for the defender.
