New Crystal Palace manager Frank De Boer is looking to make additions to his squad and, according to a report from Neil Moxley of the Mirror, he wants to sign Barcelona defender Thomas Vermaelen.
The former Arsenal man has fallen down the pecking order at the Nou Camp and having spent last season out on loan at Roma, he is expected to be sold this summer.

The defender will be looking to go somewhere where he can play every week as he wants to ensure that he has a place in the Belgian national team at the World Cup in 2018.
According to the report in the Mirror, Vermaelen’s representatives have indicated that their client is interested in a move back to the Premier League, with London his preferred destination.
Any fee for Vermaelen would likely be minimal so he could prove to be a bargain if Palace can get a deal done.
