Crystal Palace are set to agree a £8m deal to sign Ajax defender Jairo Riedewald.
According to Sky Sports , Palace are closing in on an agreement with Ajax, which is expected to be made later this week.
Ajax’s director of football – former Arsenal midfielder – Marc Overmars is willing to let Reidewald go due to his lack of game time last season.
Reidewald was deployed in a holding midfield role, despite being known as more of a right-back or central defender.
The 20-year-old is now expected to sign for Palace in the coming days and link up with his compatriot Frank De Boer for pre-season.
The defender could be set to compete with Joel Ward for a spot at right-back next season as Palace look to kick on from a disappointing campaign last year.
Crystal Palace completed the signing of Ruben Loftus-Cheek on loan from Chelsea earlier today. He will wear the number eight shirt.
